Description

Electric foil blade FIE Maraging StM complete- it is fine decision for professionals. Buying this blade, you receive the best price- quality ratio. Getting STM blade, you receive the item of a world famous brand. Since its inception, the company has walked a long and arduous path towards becoming the today’s brand known for the quality and high reliability of its products. Blades are designed for fencing practice and tournaments. They are made in different sizes, from 750 mm (children's) to 875 mm (adult). They are threaded and designed specifically for a screwing electric point and wire. This kit contains a blade with a factory-glued wire and an electric point in full compliance with blade gluing technology. In fencing equipment, the blade comes first and at the same time it is a consumable good. Breakage and deformation of the blade depend largely on the style and intensity of fencing, so it is hard to predict the service life of a blade. It is recommended that 2-3 blades be purchased at a time rather than just one. Maraging blades are the competition blades stipulated by the FIE (International Fencing Federation). Maraging steel has a special composition—it is an iron alloy containing nickel (17–19%), cobalt (8–12%), molybdenum (3–5%) and titanium (0.2–1.6%). Accordingly, the price of maraging blades is in part determined by the high prices of these elements. Maraging steel is 10 times more resistant to the propagation of cracks and defects than carbon steel though. Naturally, all steels have defects and micro-cracks. During fencing and frequent bending of blades, these microcracks propagate and later become large enough for a blade to break. In maraging blades, cracks propagate 10 times more slowly, hence their durability.
